Today we had class time so two of our students did their presentations on Versailles and on the Eiffel Tower. After class we went for lunch at a wonderful place and had a falaffel. They were delicious and very filling!
We then went on a walking tour of the Catacombes. Just before the Revolution, Paris' cemetaries were overcrowded so they were emptied and all the bones were placed underground into tunnels that sprawl beneath the city streets of Paris. It was a very different walking tour for sure and so strange to see row after row of bones. I've never seen anything like it.
On another note, everyone smokes here and it is difficult to get away from it on the streets...that part I don't like.
Tonight we will take a wonderful boat ride on the Seine River...really looking forward to that.
Delicious Falafell!
