Friday, January 13, 2012 (morning)

This morning Samantha, Whitney and I headed out via the metro to the Pere-Lachaise Cemetery.  This is one of the world's most famous cemeteries.  We visited the grave sites of Jim Morrison, Colette (famous French writer), Frederic Chopin (famous pianist), and Oscar Wilde.  I  have never seen a cemetary like this.  All the while we were walking in the cemetery these crows were following us...they were creepy.

This evening we went back to the Eiffel Tower to do the sunset ride to the top. What a view! The Eiffel Tower is so huge...it is really neat to be at the top and look out over the city of Paris. It was also very cold, but well worth still going up.

The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the World's Fair celbrating the centennial of the French Revolution and France's position as a global superpower.  Gustave Eiffel was the bridge builder.  The tower has three observation platforms at 200, 400 and 900 feet.
