Sunday, January 15, 2012 (afternoon)

Today we went to the flea markets on the very edge of Paris, right before getting into their suburb area.  Unlike in the U.S. where the city is more dangerous and the suburb less dangerous, it is just the opposite here.  We saw quite a few people selling fake watches, purses, perfume, etc. (similar to New York) and certainly more garbage.  It was very cold outside today, but still no snow. I'm thankful we have not had to deal with it since typically this time of year they would have snow on the ground.

Darci found a very unique gift to bring back with her and I found some cool stamps at the flea market.  A large flea market with almsot any type of item you would like to find.  It was worth the experience to see a little of their suburb area.  I also saw this cute white cat and it actually let me pet it :)

I also tried roasted chestnuts.  You can find somebody roasting them on almost every street in Paris...they smell good and they also taste good.  A very familiar taste, but I could not exactly tell you what it tastes like...just good.
