The waffels were wonderful and I can see where the belgium waffel now comes from. Here's many pictures from our fun day.

What a fun, fun day! We traveled by train to Bruges, Belgium which is like taking a step back in time. This cloth manufacturing town was created in the 13th century. Beautiful canals with swans, stone houses and lots of cute glass fronted stores where you can try waffels, fries, and lots and lots of chocolate shops. Yum! We ate lunch at a wonderful place called Brouwerij-Brasserie-Brewery which is the only remaining brewery in the centre of Bruges. We tried their Zot beer and had a wonderful traditional meal of stew and potatoes. We followed lunch with a fun horse-drawn carriage ride to see parts of this cute little town. We toured Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk (church of our lady) and Sint-Salvatorskathedraal (Holy Savior's Cathedral.) We even climbed the steps to the belfry (328-ft) so we certainly got our exercise.
