Today was a nice day. It was a free day for Darci and I to do some things on our own and for the students to do some thing they wanted to do. We slept in until 9:00 a.m. which felt great after all the early mornings and running to a tour or class. We took a nice long walk on the Paris streets until we came to the Basilique Du Sacre' (Sacred Heart) which is at Paris' highest point (420 feet), The basilica took 44 years to build. It was beautiful inside with a mosaic high above the alter, Christ exposes his sacred heart for humanity. It is really a sight to just look at for awhile. I could not take any pictures inside so won't be able to post what this looks like. We had to climb a lot of stairs to get to the Basilique, but it was worth the climb. The view of Paris from this highest point is absolutely beautiful!
Tonight I plan to do some laundry and have a relaxing evening as tomorrow we have class time in the morning and then off to do the Catacomb tour.
